NYELEC truly is your local electrician making a difference worldwide.
When you work with the NYELEC team, you’ll not only receive professional electrical services you can rely on, but know you’re helping improve the lives of others throughout the world at the same time.
The inspiration for NYELEC first came about in late 2019 when Bill was listening to a podcast about the organisation, GivePower, who installs off-grid solar and water desalination plans in remote villages in developing countries. Growing tired of the daily grind and wanting to feel like he was contributing more to the world than living the eat, sleep, work, repeat cycle, the work Givepower was doing sparked something in Bill, and he got in touch to see how he could help.
GivePower replied, and NYELEC was born.
Today, the business contributes three per cent of every electrical, solar and air-conditioning installation they complete to GivePower, and is currently working towards the goal of raising enough money for the NYELEC team to trek into a remote village in Nepal and install off-grid battery solar and electrical systems to process a desalination plant for the village themselves. For the first time in his life, Bill said he was thinking about something other than buying a house or a fancy car - a way of living he enjoyed a lot more, but he wants to make it clear - he’s not helping people just to make himself ‘look good’ - in fact, he hasn’t pushed the narrative too much for this very reason. Instead, NYELEC’s mission is purely as a way for him to feel like he was personally making a bit of a difference in the world, and a way to inspire his own children to one day do the same.
